Port Bonython Jetty Upgrade
Overview
The Department for Transport and Infrastructure (DIT) has engaged Wallbridge Gilbert Aztec (WGA) and Aquest Electrical to upgrade and repair the berthing and mooring dolphins at Port Bonython. This project is part of a broader strategy for the maintenance and operations of the DIT-owned asset.
Project Scope
- Investigation of Existing Infrastructure:
- Assessing the current condition of electrical infrastructure on catwalks, berthing dolphins, and mooring dolphins, including:
- Capstans, mooring hooks, and associated infrastructure (including any IS)
- Lighting systems
- General power supply
- All feeds to the above components
- Connection to the main board in the control room at the head of the jetty
- Evaluating capacity within the main board for proposed demands
- Assessing the current condition of electrical infrastructure on catwalks, berthing dolphins, and mooring dolphins, including:
- Design and Installation:
- Designing, installing, and commissioning breasting dolphin quick release hooks and capstans.
- Implementing permanent upgrades to electrical infrastructure to comply with current standards, including considerations for hazardous areas where applicable.
